I haven’t had time to blog like I had originally intended. But, thankfully, I took my first part of the CPA exam on Saturday. So some of my time is now free. I felt bad doing anything besides studying for that thing. And still, I didn’t study nearly as much as I should have. I took BEC (Business Environment Concepts). Hard to believe you need to study so hard for a 90 question exam. If I didn’t pass this time, I know I will pass it next time. They are going to add written simulations to this part of the exam next year so I need to make sure I pass it while it’s still multiple choice. They make you sign a bunch of confidentiality agreements before and after the exam. But one thing I feel safe (and legal) saying is that a lot of the info is proprietary in nature. You really need to at least read through some review course material before taking the exam. This isn’t exactly a groundbreaking theory… but just in case there is someone out there who thinks they can pass it without studying for it, trust me sir or madame, you are wrong. It reminds me of when I had to take the written driver’s test when I transferred my license from WV to NC. There are some terms you will only find in the driver’s manual issued by the State of NC. And some of those terms will surely be on the test.
I ordered the New Lifestyle Diet over the weekend. It’s about half the price of the liquid diet I was on that was doctor supervised. And the food is delicious! I got a free sample in the mail last week. All I had to pay for was shipping. The food is much more tasty than the food I had on Medifast when I did that in 2008. Also, for less money than Medifast you get a lot more food – and a lot more options to choose from. You can customize your plan much easier. They had a lot more pudding/shake options than Medifast has. And the best part, to me, is that New LifeStyle Diet products are made from whey protein, not soy protein. Soy is exceptionally bad for people like myself who have thyroid problems. If you don’t believe me, do some online research. There are some big pro-soy people out there, but there are many more who will tell you the dangers of soy. Even my doctor (a licensed bariatrician) told me soy is bad for your body. I think that’s why my thyroid problem seemed to get worse after my 6 weeks of Medifast.
I can’t wait for my New Lifestyle Diet products to get here!
I want to get started ASAP.
I have a second interview in two weeks at a particular company this afternoon. This is the same company who asked me “why are you taking the CPA exam? Do you want to work in public accounting?” I knew this was the company for me! Although, I still want to get my CPA for many reasons and I definitely plan to do so. But it was a breath of fresh air to actually hear that come out of someone’s mouth. I forgot that not all employers in Raleigh bow before the CPA throne.
I wish this interview could be tomorrow. I’m physically worn out. I don’t even know why. I feel like I could sleep all day today. I need prayer! And possibly Red Bull.
